Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I need to hire an immigration consultant?

No. HireU Global Corp. retains qualified immigration consultants who will assist you in completing your immigration application and review it before it is submitted. Should you choose to hire a consultant we can refer you to the Government of Canada web page that explains how to find one. Never use an immigration consultant who is not registered in Canada, because they are not legally permitted to advise you.

Immigration consultants paid by you are not legally permitted to provide advice on employment.

Should I work as a personal support worker (PSW) in Canada?

No. Since PSWs are not an in demand job in Canada, few employers choose to hire them from outside Canada, because it is a lengthy and expensive process. If you obtain a position as a PSW, it may affect your eligibility to apply for immigration as a medical professional, since you are required to have recent experience in your profession. Furthermore, the median wage for a PSW is $17.00 per hour, which will make it difficult for you to pay your living expenses and have any money left over.

Should I enrol in a private Canadian educational facility?

No. Some candidates enrol in a private Canadian educational facility, for example in a personal support worker (PSW) course, because it provides them with a temporary work permit. However, the permit is only valid during the year of study and there is no guarantee that a new temporary work permit will be issued for the subsequent year. The courses also tend to be expensive. Furthermore, you cannot use these work permits to work in your profession. (See: Should I work as a personal support worker (PSW)?)

Should I enrol in a public Canadian educational facility?

Possibly, depending on your circumstances. Canadian colleges offer a one to two year program to upgrade your Bachelor of Nursing degree if it does not meet Canadian requirements. It also allows you to work during your course year and for one to two years after. But you cannot work as an RN during this period and it may affect your eligibility to apply for immigration as a permanent resident, since you are required to have recent experience in your profession.

If you are required to upgrade your degree, it is better to do it in your home country, for example by obtaining a master's degree. Alternatively, if you are an RN, you can immigrate to Canada as a licenced practical nurse and upgrade your degree after arrival. Financial assistance or low interest loans may be available for this.

Why don't you charge fees to applicants?

All our fees are paid by employers. It is illegal for employment agencies to charge fees to applicants, and for employers to hire employees referred to them by employment agencies or immigration consultants who charge fees. Never pay a fee to anyone offering assistance in finding employment.

Can I do this myself?

Yes. However, we offer a free service to you providing free assistance from qualified immigration consultants, recruitment consultants and other skilled professionals. We are also able to begin your job search before you have received final approval for immigration and professional qualification, so that you can begin working sooner.

What are the main languages spoken in Canada?

The main languages in Canada are English and French, and all positions will require fluency in one of these two languages. However, immigration to Quebec requires French fluency, while most positions outside Quebec will require fluency in English.

For immigration, you may write either the English or French IELTS general training examination, but will have to demonstrate fluency in the language used in your position during interviews. If you want to work in Quebec, you must write the French language IELTS general training examination and achieve an acceptable score of 7.

What is the immigration stream?

All our applicants apply for permanent residency through the Skilled Workers Express Entry Program. Permanent residency allows immigrants to work and remain indefinitely in Canada. They may apply for citizenship after three years of permanent residency, should they choose to do so.

The Skilled Workers Express Entry Program requires Provincial Nomination. That means that their skill must be listed as a high demand occupation by the province, which will then invite applicants to immigrate to their province to work in their profession. However, permanent residents are free to travel to and work in any province or territory once they are admitted into Canada.

HireU Global Corp. does not place candidates through temporary immigration programs.
